Schofield’s ranked 59th best bar in the world

After less than 18 months in business, Schofield’s, the beloved art deco cocktail on the corner of the iconic Sunlight House, has been named 59th best bar in the world in the 2022 Perrier World’s Best Bars rankings, making it the first British bar outside London to make the Top 100 since 2008.

Opened by world-renowned bartender brothers Joe and Dan Schofield of Bury, Schofield’s opened in April 2021 on the former site of landmark pub The Old Grapes and found almost instant triumph as a regionally renowned cocktail joint. The brothers share a peerless wealth of bartending acumen, with over 25 years of industry experience across 60 countries between them; while Dan has worked in Paris and London, and as assistant manager at the esteemed Coupette, Joe has worked at high-end bars in Sydney, Singapore and Melbourne and became the first person in history to be named both the International Bartender of The Year in the Tales of The Cocktail Spirited Awards, and the Bartender’s Bartender at The World’s 50 Best Bars 2018.

Open from noon until 1:30am Wed-Sun, Schofield’s offers elevated iterations of every classic cocktail like the Manhattan, Sazerac and Negroni, alongside schooners of Dortmunder beer, a range of refined bar snacks and more.
