From grandiose adaptations of classic British food to all-you-can-eat Brazilian-Japanese infusion cuisine, Christmas amongst the twinkling glass of Spinningfields promises a refined festive fantasia for all tastes.
Featuring seasonal cocktails, cheer-filled yurts and some of the best set menus across the region, here are some of the best things to do around Spinningfields this Christmas.
Spinningfields’ newest venue, Provence wine bar serves a staggeringly extensive assortment of vines and vintages, alongside all-day small plates, sharing boards and coffee. For £20pp, guests can head to The Cellar for 90 minutes of wine-assisted karaoke, with welcome drinks on arrival and the option to go bottomless for just £15 extra.
Filled with ‘festive lights, faux fur and foliage’, The Lawn Club’s new Alice In Wonderland-themed yurt offers another warm, welcoming winter haven pitched in the heart of Spinningfields, with Christmas party hire options available.
Boasting some of Manchester’s best panoramic cityscape views, 20 Stories transforms into a Hygge-heavy ‘Enchanted Forest’ this winter with a bespoke festive cocktail menu curated in collaboration with Ciroc vodka. An opulent den of ‘relaxed elegance and laid-back luxe’, high-end foodie favourite Australasia guarantees an unforgettable gastronomic experience set against the ‘natural tones of the Pacific coastline’ with bold, stimulating flavours drawn from cuisine along the Pacific Rim.
Running from Thu 17 Nov through to New Year’s Eve, the festive menu at the renowned Levantine restaurant features Mezze sharing platters, sprawling mixed grills, seabass, Orange Blossom Mouhalabia, baklava and more with 3 courses and mint tea for just £34.95pp. With Christmas Party bookings available, Comptoir Libanais also offer a variety of seasonal cocktails and drink packages (with a customary Lebanese twist) to accompany the set menu.
Synonymous with the new age of refined Mancunian cosmopolitanism, The Ivy Spinningfields offers something magically unique across every level of its twinkling, biophilic home in Hardman Square. Open all day, every day, The Ivy Brasserie serves modern British classics for every meal, with an irresistible selection of small plates, including seared wagyu beef and gochujang buttermilk chicken, available at The Ivy Asia on the floor above, situated beneath a gorgeous roof garden offering cocktails with a view.
Throughout Christmas, guests can also enjoy tipples from a limited edition cocktail menu that has been created in collaboration with Chivas XV Gold Whisky, and you can check out The Ivy festive set menu here.
Billed as ‘the perfect example of sophistication’, Fazenda’s sumptuous refinement of Brazilian all-you-can-eat dining brings exquisite cuts of grilled meat from the Pampas to the UK in a sophisticated collision of authenticity and the modern gaúcho.
Offering ‘elevated modern-Chinese dishes, artfully curated Limited-Edition Aurora Borealis cocktails and showstopping Snow-scaped desserts’, Tattu’s Enchanted Winter experience delivers East Asian fine-dining in a snow-dusted wonderland with mesmeric Northern Lights displays unfurling across the walls.

Arguably Manchester’s favourite cocktail bar, The Alchemist continues its devout preservation of Spinningfields’ Victorian reputation as ‘a den of iniquity, teeming with opium dens, gin palaces and alehouses’. Darkly theatrical and forged with obsessive detail, their colossal cocktail inventory features everything from a classic Old Fashioned to radical inventions served amidst curling dry ice.
While there’s no turkey and trimmings to be found, Thaikhun kicks off its own Christmas party with a fantastically affordable set menu and a range of festive cocktails to wash it down.
Beginning at just £17.50pp, the tinsel-strewn Thai feast promises dishes ‘guaranteed to please even the fussiest of family members or colleagues.’
