There aren’t many venues in Manchester that can provide a more fitting festive setting than the walls of Levenshulme’s Station South.

After being lovingly restored over the last five years, the stunning former train station, which sits atop the Fallowfield Loop, has become one of the city’s most unique spots for food and drink.

Over the next couple of weeks, the team will pull out all the stops and fill space with plenty of festive cheer.

A brand-new festive tapas menu is available every Wed-Sat, 4pm-6pm through December. Ideal for any Christmas get-together, guests can pick through party favourites like pork sausage rolls with apple cider chutney and sage, vegan-friendly beetroot and artichoke rolls and cauliflower mac and cheese. There’s also a rotating soup of the day and a sustainable seasonal dish of the day on offer.

Between Christmas and New Year, ‘Betwixmas’ as Station South have dubbed it, a special brunch menu will be available from 11am-3pm. This includes classics like a pastrami Reuben, grilled cheese sandwiches and huevos rancheros.

On Thu 22 Dec, supremely talented members of Christ Church Manchester will deliver a magical evening of festive music and songs. Entry is free, but you can reserve your spot here, and on Christmas eve, all are invited to an afternoon of carol singing on Station Green, complete with hot chocolate, mulled wine and mince pies to keep warm.

The Regal Disco will be on hand for anyone wanting to ring in the New Year at Station South. A stellar lineup of DJs including Lowel, Bob Jones and Sons of Bingo will be spinning a soundtrack that spans disco, funk, afrobeat, house and techno until 2am. Tickets are £6 and can be booked now.

Then, for anyone nursing a sore head on New Year’s Day, the team will be serving up some of the best roasts in Manchester, with diners able to choose between the Littlewoods’ joint of the week, roast chicken and a vegan wellington.

Throughout the festive period until Christmas eve, Station South is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-11pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 9am-12am and Sundays from 9am-10pm. On Boxing Day, the venue will be open 10am-5pm, Wed 28-Fri 30 they’ll be open 10am-10pm and then on New Year’s Eve from 10am-2am.
