Arriving at The Lowry this week is //Tuning In//, a production that explores the destructive nature of disability prejudice and the damage caused by trying to fit in.

The show opens with ‘twitching hero Reagan’ covered in blood trying to trace back what has just transpired on a first date gone wrong.

Narratives glitch together and collide — a restaurant disaster with a steak knife? A confrontation in a nightclub toilet? As Reagan attempts to fill in the missing pieces, there is just one part of the puzzle that stands out — Cameron Flanagan, Reagan’s date the night before.

Throughout the performance, audiences are dragged through broken memories as he attempts to find out what happened to Cameron, a difficult process as his brain keeps changing channels.

//Tuning In// was originally developed by Theatre by the Lake as part of the digital SPARK programme in 2021. It arrives at The Lowry on Fri 26 & Sat 27 May.

Each performance of //Tuning In// contains creative captioning and creative integrated audio description. Tickets are on sale now, you can grab yours using the button below.
