A mixed up bunch of comedy nights this week as XS Malarkey head to HOME for one last show before settling at 53Two, Australian comic Troy Kinne stops by the Frog and Drunk Classics take on The War Of The Worlds.
The premise of Drunk Classics is simple, they take your favourite classic novel or film and perform it with a drunken twist. Half of the cast will be drinking, and the other half will be the “designated drivers” tasked with pulling the whole thing together. This month they’ll be taking on HG Wells’s classic The War Of The Worlds with any number of novels, sequels, movie adaptations, TV shows and a musical ripe for parody. The audience gets a free shot on arrival too.
To end your week with a bang, why not give Troy Kinne a shot at The Frog & Bucket. The Australian comedian brings his blokey charm to Manchester as part of his debut UK tour. Oversharing is his stock in trade and he’s the butt of every all too relatable joke. A social media phenomenon, it’s worth seeing the real thing in the flesh.

When the apocalypse comes, all that will remain are cockroaches and Toby Hadoke introducing them onto the stage at XS Malarkey. All sorts of circumstances have tried to put a stop to Manchester’s favourite comedy club but it simply cannot be killed and after one final nomadic outing at HOME this Tuesday with Jonathan Mayor it will finally settle at new home of 53Two. XS Malarkey will remain. Keep supporting it.
