A couple of years ago now, Owen Ashworth decided to stop working under the name Casiotone for the Painfully Alone – and with it, one of the most-loved lo-fi DIY acts of this generation slipped into oblivion. Ashworth carried on recording, though, and now pens would-be classics under the name Advance Base, retaining the introversion, wit and ear for a melody that first earned him a reputation, only adding a little world-weariness into the mix too. Having released his first album under the name, A Shut-In’s Prayer, this will be his debut European tour under the name, and it promises to be an emotional return to the rainy city.
