A huge party celebrating South Asian and Global Club Music takes over Band on the Wall next week.
Whilst in town for the upcoming WOMEX 24, Going South and GCMN will be taking over two rooms at the iconic venue on Wed 23 Oct. The South Asian room line-up will be headlined by a live show from bass-heavy party starters Bhangra All Stars (Live) hosted by iconic Bhangra singer and performer Bee2, alongside BBC DJ, South Asian music legend, and leader of Going South Bobby Friction.
As part of Going South, Bobby is committed to pushing forward South Asian music on global platforms; and was instrumental in the creation of the incredible Arrivals, the first-ever dedicated South Asian space at Glastonbury Festival, in collaboration with Dialled In and Daytimers.
There will also be an energetic set from the Manchester-based, much-loved room-shaker Gracie T, while the legendary Manara will play alongside UK club favourite Ummi, and true world music selector Indian Man will be filling the floor like only he can.
Over on the GCMN stage, guests can expect a banging party soundtrack packed with eclectic music brought to you by renowned international DJs including Daferwa (Germany/Mexico), David Chavez (USA), DJ Chris Tofu (UK), DJ Mam (Brazil), DJ Ru Robinson (UK), La Lvcha (Colombia), Missex (Colombia), Oonga (Canada), Rebel Up Sebcat B2B Aleksand Saya (Belgium & La Reunion), and Will Villa (Colombia).
Band on the Wall’s main room will be taken over by Going South from 11pm, following the DJ Spinall show (starting at 7pm – DJ Spinall ticket holders can join the party for free), while GCNM will be hitting the iconic venue’s second stage housed in its recently launched NY jazz bar-inspired, The Copper Bar from 10pm.
WOMEX delegates will get free entry and anyone else can pay on the door for £15.
