Book now: Badly Drawn Boy at Deaf Institute

Back in the early Noughties, it felt like Manchester was in the midst of a musical renaissance, with Twisted Nerve the toast of independent music the world over, and its co-founder Damon Gough (aka Badly Drawn Boy) headlining the likes of Royal Albert Hall. His Mercury Prize-winning album, The Hour of the Bewilderbeast, was seemingly everywhere. Fast-forward almost a decade and Gough’s creative spark was apparently reignited. In 2009 he soundtracked Caroline Aherne’s TV film The Fattest Man in Britain, and followed up with the first of what was intended to be a trilogy of albums, 2010’s It’s What I’m Thinking: Part 1 – Photographing Snowflakes, plus another soundtrack, Being Flynn, last spring. Following on a collaboration with fellow Mancunian artist Olympian earlier this year, this Deaf Institute will be an ideal opportunity to see what’s next for Badly Drawn Boy.
