A huge, free digital and tech skills festival offering hundreds of career opportunities comes to Manchester this February.

Forming a key part of the wider week-long Manchester Digital Skills Festival, the annual event’s dedicated Talent Day has been running for more than 10 years, uniting leading tech and digital businesses from across Manchester and the rest of the North West.

Attracting around 2000 attendees every year, the Digital Skills Festival’s Talent Day, which takes place on Wed 12 Feb at New Century Hall, is a chance to discover more about a career in the North West’s fast-growing tech economy.

Whether you’re a student, graduate, apprentice, returning to the industry or thinking of a career switch, the day provides a welcome setting to connect with a diverse range of companies through themed zones, workshops, CV clinics with one-to-one support and professional development opportunities.

This year’s exhibitors include: Jaguar Land Rover, Auto Trader, Amazon, Starling Bank; Government Digital Services; Slalom, Hippo Digital, Capgemini and many more. With timed sessions throughout the day, attendees can meet exhibitors, attend seminars, and receive priceless career advice.

Katie Gallagher OBE, managing director of Manchester Digital, said: “Talent Day is our flagship event, which always brings together the best leading tech companies in our region with those people looking to find out what a career in tech can offer.

“We strongly encourage people to come along and find out what kinds of jobs and apprenticeships are on offer in the tech industry, which can include roles such as software developer, user experience designer, project managers, data analyst and business analyst, cyber security analyst and much more.

“You don’t need a university degree to look for a career in tech, and there are often lots of businesses looking for people with a wide range of previous work experience. New Century Hall is an amazing venue and we’re excited to showcase the range of careers on offer.”

Jaguar Land Rover sponsors the Talent Day, and the Digital Skills Festival headline sponsor is AtkinsRéalis, alongside ecosystem partners Manchester City Council and GMCA.
