Amy Annette headlines XS Malarkey, Justina Seselskaite launches Comedy Bingo at GRUB and there’s 10 acts for a tenner at Cultplex on Sunday.

Amy Annette at XS Malarkey | Tue 28 Jan | 7.30pm | £3/6

Fresh off the back of a much-vaunted solo run at Soho Theatre where she garnered a four-star review from the Guardian, Amy Annette headlines XS Malarkey for the first time. Ploughing a hilarious furrow in observational comedy about millennial life while also trading in some pin-point accurate cringe 90s nostalgia, Annette is a comic on the rise and one you should get to know better.

Comedy Bingo at GRUB | Thu 30 Jan | 7.30pm | £5

Hailing from Lithuania, stand-up Justina Seselskaite has incorporated one of Britain’s favourite pastimes for her new comedy evening. Bingo! A comedy night where prizes are to be won, fun almost certainly to be had and a few of Justina’s funny pals will be popping by to no doubt take on new hilarious calls for the likes of ‘legs eleven’. Come for the bingo, stay for the comedy.

Chortle Hotshots at Cultplex | Sun 2 Feb | 7pm | £10

The Edinburgh Fringe can be an expensive time for comedians so comedy news website Chortle is doing something about it as they launch Hotshots, a competition for Fringe debutantes to win financial and creative help for their first show. To decide who should be gifted such kindness there’ll be a showcase of 10 of the North’s finest new stand-ups this Sunday at Cultplex hosted by Hayley Ellis. 10 comics for a tenner and you might just spot the next big thing before this year’s Fringe.
