Manchester purveyors of quality parties, Homo Electric, are keeping spirits high during lock-down by hosting an epic 12 hour rave on Bank Holiday Sunday 10 May 2020. Hosted on their Facebook page, this epic live-streamed event will kick off at noon and last until midnight, inviting viewers to temporarily forget the current crisis and dance the day (and night) away. Created in partnership with United We Stream, the city’s new initiative to bring cultural content into lockdown homes, Stay Homo will feature dancing and music all in the name of charity. While the event will be free for all to enjoy, those who are able to spare a few pence will be able to support a range of bars, clubs, venues, restaurants, freelance, performers, creatives and cultural organisations by purchasing a ‘virtual ticket’. These donations will go directly towards helping those most impacted by the current COVID-19 pandemic with a percentage of proceeds also going towards the Albert Kennedy Trust which supports LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 in the uk who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment.
