When Socio Rehab closed its doors for the last time at the end of 2012 everyone knew it wasn’t the last we’d seen of the people from Beautiful Drinks. Mainly because they still had zombie laboratory/rum den Keko Moku next door, burger emporium Almost Famous upstairs and cute caff Home Sweet Home just down the street. But also, because they’d told us all they’d be back – with tacos. Luck, Lust, Liquor and Burn (LLLB) is the product of a road trip through California – from LA to San Diego to be exact – bringing back to the chilly UK the foodstuffs and recipes of the state. Mexicali-inspired food is the order of the day, with tacos, nachos (pictured), taquitos, burritos and chillis available from the restaurant upstairs, which opens from 5pm every day but Monday. Pals and stablemates Almost Famous have also provided a burger menu with a Calexican slant. The bar downstairs will serve a number of snacks through the day until the restaurant opens, where you can help yourself to cocktails with ludicrous names and a great selection of American and Mexican beers.
