Blues guitarist Matt Schofield will take to the stage at Band on the Wall on Friday 13 June. The date, superstitious for some, will be a homecoming gig for Manchester-born Schofield, and is sure to feature tracks from his new album, As Far As I Can See, released in February. Schofield has achieved success in a short period as three times in recent years, he has been named British Blues Awards Guitarist of the Year. Despite being on the scene for around a decade, it is difficult to place Schofield into one category as each time he performs the familiar is twisted and made completely original as only he can make it. The musician is a great performer and has built a reputation for his live performances, entertaining audiences with his jaunty tones and slick vocals. Fans can expect to see his unique style of improvised blues within the intimate setting of Band on the Wall in what is sure to be an easy-going and charming set to kick off the weekend.
