Curse Of Lono’s 2018 sophomore effort, As I Fell, was acclaimed for emotive, rocking ballads, buttressed with neat vocal harmonies. Recorded at Rancho V in Joshua Tree, California, and produced in Hackney, the songs bear the influence of both extremes—the expansive American countryside and the dark, urban themes of singer Joe Hazell’s lyrics, taking cues from the rich tapestry of Americana. Support comes from brooding folk singer John Murry, whose tales from the American Gothic, his Mississippi origins, and personal loss have made his songs widely acclaimed on records such as 2013’s The Graceless Age and his latest, 2017’s A Short History of Decay. A double bill not to be missed!
