Instrumental jazz icon Paul McCandless has named Band on the Wall as the venue for a Manchester date on his June UK tour with the Charged Particles trio. Backed by a virtuoso version of the reliable jazz ensemble of keys-bass-drums, the septuagenarian McCandless is allowed freedom to flex his substantial musical skills via woodwind and brass, bringing to the stage a compelling cornucopia of horns, saxophones, flute and beyond. McCandless built his reputation with 1970s-formed quartet Oregon and an expansive career continues to deliver the best the genre can offer.
