Described by musician, producer and composer Nitin Sawhney as having a sound that ‘is a melting pot of sonic bliss’, Kirk McElhinney has no shortage of talent as a singer songwriter. Where Kirk strays from those other grouped in to the catch-all term of singer songwriter is in his free spirited jamming style which means no gig is like the last. With a rich, soulful voice and mastery of the acoustic guitar, McElhinney’s wit and charm shines through in his lyrical musings and vibrant mosaic of picking. Having played with the likes of Sawhney, folk legend Bert Jansch and Tommy Emmanuel, he will be revealing tracks from his stunning new album, World Gone Blind, at Band on the Wall. With the venue being perfectly suited to his style, this will be one not to be missed. Support comes from Kirsty Almeida.
