Formed by Kai Compos and Dominic Maker in 2008, there are few that have defined the sonic landscape of the past four years as much as Mount Kimbie. Often credited with creating ‘post-dubstep’ with early demos, EPs and their debut album Crooks & Lovers, the truth is that they’ve always had too much depth and intelligence to be bound by such tight pigeonholing. Vice awarded that LP a perfect score, saying it “stands out as something genuinely special’. Signing to Warp last year, the band refused to be fazed by their early success, instead creating something arguably “bigger and bolder” (according to the Guardian) with Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. The record includes two tracks alongside wunderkind King Krule; a snapshot of a band towering over the imitators that sprung up in their absence. Brainfeeder’s likeminded Lapalux plays support.
