Russian stadium rockers Mumiy Troll are to travel due west on a pilgrimage to the roots of their influences, including a Manchester date at Deaf Institute. The anglophone trio helped to popularise Brit pop and its guitar rock descendants in their native land, and shades of Dandy Warhols’ Courtney Taylor-Taylor make up the colour in vocalist Ilya Lagutenko’s palette. The band’s Vitamins single is up for free download as a taster of their latest LP in an illustrious career spanning three decades, so now’s the time to become acquainted if you’re not already.
Sat 5 Dec, Deaf Institute, 135 Grosvenor Street, Manchester, M1 7HE, Tel: 0161 276 9350, 7.00pm, £15, www.seetickets.com
