Following a year of cancelled shows, music collective The Untold Orchestra has announced a series of performances at Escape To Freight Island showcasing the music of David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles and well-known Disney, Britpop and Motown hits.

Made up of the best classical, pop and jazz musicians, The Untold Orchestra has worked with a number of well-known collaborators over the years, including Snarky Puppy and Manchester rapper Skittles and his group 8 Gold Rings. Back in 2019, they reimagined an orchestral take on The Beatles’ iconic Abbey Road in celebration of the album’s fiftieth birthday which was performed at NIAMOS.

Taking place between early June and early August, The Untold Orchestra’s stint at Freight Island aims to provide some much needed summer fun following a bleak few weeks. Visitors can expect performances that retool the music a number of classic hits, with the band joined by vocalists Jenna G, Martin Connor, Nicole Battick, Dominic Lawson, Mica Millar, Ellen Lewis, Ben Lee Smith, Yemi Bolatiwa, Lisa Olivant and Will Jaquet. Tickets are available from just £8 and can be purchased by visiting the Escape To Freight Island website.
