Chaz Bundick made a name for himself under the alias Toro Y Moi after releasing recognisably hazy, nostalgic records, before moving onto the more feet-shifting end of the spectrum with some funk and disco – then taking a side-step to give us Les Sins that arguably characterises all of the above, with the addition of beat-driven electronica. This year he returns with Toro Y Moi’s What For?, to be released early April. Lead single Empty Nesters (below) is a gloriously chipper tune with sunshine seeping out of every empty space; something not too dissimilar from Tame Impala, but on Prozac. Another musical style to add to his pot of capabilities.
