Branded as the ‘People’s Run’, the KSwiss sponsored event continues to grow in popularity. Perhaps it’s the sense of theatre about it that really gets people going – both the start and the end are staged at the Etihad Campus (next to the City of Manchester stadium), with the final leg being in front of a cheering crowd on the running track at Regional Athletics Arena. Maybe it’s the fact that they host an equivalent run-about for children, with the Toddler Trot consistently pulling in big numbers of proud parents and enthusiastic youth. More than likely it’s the fact that it’s all for a good cause, with the We Love Manchester charity being the beneficiaries of profits – though the £250, £150 and £75 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed respectively helps, too.
