An album that owes its title to Kurt Vonnegut’s Hocus Pocus, folk punk outfit AJJ’s (fka Andrew Jackson Jihad) sophomore release ‘People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World’ turned 10 last year and original band members Sean Bonnette and Ben Gallaty will be celebrating its anniversary. The frantic folk instrumentation provides the driving force behind Bonnette’s equally frenzied but masterful lyrics; thoughts on human duality that are at once funny, disturbing, sad and uplifting; delivered with wit and meaning. Though AJJ’s other releases deserve their own merit, this album remains a cornerstone of their output. For more gigs in Manchester click here.
