Art rock duo Battles have announced a short European tour featuring some of their “favourite cities and festivals” this October, stopping off at Gorilla on Mon 28. The new shows come nestled between a number of festival appearances, including Bristol’s ArcTanGent and Turin’s Club To Club Festival. Forming in 2002, and quickly seeing off a string of well-received EPs, Battles broke through with their 2007 debut LP Mirrored, praised for their energy, humour and ferocity, with lead single Atlas quickly becoming a fan favourite. Following a series of line-up changes, most recently with guitarist Dave Konopka departing leaving just guitarist/keyboardist Ian Williams and drummer John Stanier behind the wheel, the pair have turned towards a more instrumental output. Though they have been quiet since the release of third album La Di Da Di in 2015, the duo have recently teased new music on social media. Tickets for their night at Gorilla go on sale Fri 26 Jul.
