Since releasing a string of self-produced singles after forming in 2012, feminist post punks ILL have been making waves with their explorations in the personal and political, the mundane and the surreal the funny and the sinister. Favouring a wild energy that drives their punk, pop and prog sounds, Steve Lamacq, Marc Riley and Tom Robinson having been waxing lyrical about ILL on their 6 Music shows. They’ve spent 18 months recording their debut album ‘We Are ILL’ (released on 11 May on Box Records) in Manchester’s Ancoats; bringing together a collection of raucous, spontaneous and frenzied tracks that buzz with defiance and a keen sense of kick assery.  Support comes from experimental blues duo Glove and minimalist post punk/art rockers MOLD.
