US musician Roosevelt Collier brings his pedal and lap steel guitar talent to Manchester this summer, playing Band On The Wall with his live band on 18 Jul. The south Florida-bred musician fuses roots-orientated rock and blues with typical Americana gospel stylings, and visits the Swan Street venue fresh from releasing debut solo album Exit 16. Overseen by Bokanté bandmate Michael League, also of Grammy-winning outfit Snarky Puppy fame, Collier brilliantly describes the debut album – and his output in general – as “dirty funk swampy grime”. His appearance in Manchester comes slap bang in the middle of latest European tour, mixed in with a handful of festival appearances across the globe. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch “The Dr.” of lap steel guitar in the flesh.
