The legendary Micron club night returns to Manchester in July following last year’s celebration of the crew’s first decade in the dance. The Micron crew are putting on big one-offs these days, instead of hosting a regular night and Versions, previously known as the Joshua Brooks basement, welcomes the night back to its former home with a very special guest in tow. Jumping on the decks for a minimum three-hour set of dirty acid techno, and putting the venue’s new Void soundsystem through its paces, will be the one and only Josh Wink. Best known to the world for the definitive acid track Higher State Of Consciousness, Josh is back with a new single, the politically charged Resist, on his own Ovum Recordings label. This is a major UK date for the pioneering producer, whose only residency is back home in Philadelphia. Book now to avoid a lower state of consciousness.
Fri 21 Jul, Versions, 106 Princess Street, Manchester M1 6NG, Tel 0161 273 7336, 11pm – 4am, £10, www.skiddle.com
