Winners of last year’s Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition Bridie Jackson & The Arbour will visit Manchester this week. The Newcastle four-piece, who play Band on the Wall on Friday, have released their music through Manchester’s Debt Records before picking up the accolade, which our own Travelling Band and Liz Green have previously claimed. With comparisons to Fleet Foxes, Joanna Newsom and Feist, Bridie and band make music that is simultaneously beautiful, ethereal, dark and powerful. Check out their song Scarecrow below.

Fri 25 Apr, Band on the Wall, 25 Swan St, M4 5JZ, Tel: 0161 834 1786, 7pm, £10, bandonthewall.org
