Browse galleries, listen to African music at Whitworth After Hours

Manchester’s We Face Forward showcase of West African art and music is almost overwhelmingly large, taking in shows and events at many of the city’s galleries. So this free event at the Whitworth Art Gallery event is perfect for those looking for a way in, combining, as it does, both music and art elements of the programme. Called After Hours with Sylvanus Kwashie Kuwor & friends this special evening is part of the galleries season of late night openings and special events. As you browse the latest exhibitions, your musical guide will be Sylvanus Kwashie Kuwor, a Ghanaian master drummer, dancer and general practitioner of a range of dance forms from the West African region. There are, perhaps, few more magical ways to start your Saturday night.
