Canal Street’s luxury hotel, Velvet, has unveiled a flashy revamp just in time for Pride weekend.

Featuring 17 new suites and a gorgeous new reception area, the hotel is housed in a historic velvet factory, transforming the building into four floors of indulgent luxury.

Guests will be able to stay in the new ‘Cosy King’ and ‘Deluxe King’ rooms, along with Velvet’s ‘Signature Suites’ and a stunning penthouse suite that features a private bar built for entertaining.

New bedrooms and suites come complete with super king-size beds, smart 65″ televisions, air-con, complimentary Wi-Fi, black-out blinds and ambient lighting systems, while large bathrooms will boast a walk-in rainfall shower, freestanding bath and underfloor heating.

The exposed brickwork of the original factory features throughout, as does the original high-vaulted ceiling. These are offset with sophisticated finishes that have been dreamt up by Eris Koutsoudakis and Maria Kachramanoglou of Meraki Design.

A much-loved Manchester destination, detailing throughout the hotel has been carefully considered by local design and build specialists, Tick Interiors.

Mr Sean Kilheeney, Managing Director of Tick Interiors said, “From our labourers to our sub-contractors, we’ve consciously striven to work with teams who reside in and around Greater Manchester. All of our materials have also been sourced within a 20-mile radius of Canal Street.”

Velvet Manchester is also home to the Village Brasserie, an all-day dining venue. Poised as the neighbourhood’s artistic outpost, guests are invited to enjoy cocktails and contemporary food. With offers such as ‘Steak Night Wednesdays’ and the daily lunch menu, it is a place for everyone.

To celebrate the relaunch, Velvet Hotel is offering a very special ‘Stay For Free’ getaway, where guests are invited to book their stay and receive the full amount of the booking fee as credit to be used on food and drink at both Velvet Bar and Village Brasserie.
