Reform Radio, a not-for-profit music station which helps young people find employment, is set to relaunch. The station first began broadcasting from a basement in 2014, but now thanks to a crowdfunding campaign, Reform is moving to a state of the art studio in the city centre. To celebrate, there’s a big party this Saturday night at the First Chop Brewing Arm. This is one of our favourite venues, tucked away under a Salford railway arch and it will have two stages on the night, packed with some of Manchester’s most bleeding edge talent. DJs and acts are drawn from Reform’s roster of local talent, and include DJs Jonny Dub (Hoya:Hoya), Danuka (So Flute), T.Dot (BPM). There’s also a live set from the soul band Jenna and the Gs. Spoken word artists and a poetry slam round out the night’s entertainment. The bar will be stocked with First Chop’s award winning craft beers – including an extensive gluten free range. Plus there are free drinks on arrival courtesy of Old J Spiced Rum.
Sat 3 Oct, First Chop Brewing Arm, Unit 3, Trinity Row, Trinity Way, Salford, M3 5EN, 7pm – 1am, £10 (Adv. and OTD), www.skiddle.com
