Later this month, the 600-year-old Manchester Cathedral plays host to the third Columns Festival – a one-day event that puts equal weighting well-established acts as well as promising newcomers. The event has previously brought in heavyweight line-ups featuring Future Islands, East India Youth and Purity Ring, and this third outing will see Jack Garratt headline the event. The multi-instrumentalist is responsible for output that encompasses warm, fuzzy synths with R&B flavours, which will be complimented well by Nottingham’s alt-pop sensation Indiana, whose witty lyrics are supported by minimal pop. Fresh from supporting Hot Chip, Georgia joins the bill alongside Cloves and Duck House, who will be on hand to offer tropical electronic jams.
