Islington Mill, the creative hub in Salford, is kicking off its festive season in late November with a Christmas Market. Last year’s event was so successful that this time they’ve expanded it to two days. If you’ve never visited the Mill before, this could be the perfect introduction to all the cool things they have going on there. The venue’s resident creative talent will be showcasing their work, including unique and limited-edition art pieces. You’ll find loads of gift ideas in many different media, including prints, photographs, ceramics and jewellery. On the food side of things, Mother May will be serving up homemade festive vegan fare. There will also be that perennial winter favourite: mulled wine. Entertainment will come from the Northern Quarter Boys Choir. They’re not actual boys – most of them have beards.

Wed 18 & Thu 19 Nov, Islington Mill, 1 James Street, Salford, M3 5HW, Tel: 0161 278 6404, 5pm – 9pm (Wed); 2pm – 9pm (Thu), FREE, www.facebook.com
