Diners will be able to enjoy a selection of modern Polish cuisine this weekend as Platzkis take over the Great Northern’s outdoor Community Kitchen. From Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 September, visitors will be able to sample a range of authentic Polish dishes created by this popular city centre restaurant at Great Northern’s brand new open-air dining experience designed to help hospitality venues transition out of lockdown.

Across four days, customers can drop by to try dishes including pierogi, which are delicious Polish fried dumplings, filled with smoked sausage, bacon and potatoes (£7) or deep fried pork with homemade BBQ sauce (£7). Crispy crackling bites with pickles and sourdough bread (£4) will also be available, alongside steamed white cabbage rolls filled with pork and rice (£9), or rice, mushrooms and dill (£8) for vegetarians – both served with tomato sauce.

Drinks will be provided by site sponsors Estrella Damm and Didsbury Gin, with ice cold pints (£5) and halves £2.60) available, and zesty summer gin and tonics with raspberry and elderflower, strawberry lemon and blood orange twists (£6). Great Northern’s Community Kitchen is also supported by United We Stream.
