White Hotel sister venue, O! Peste Destroyed, has revealed the premiere exhibition to take over its Sober-Annihilated {Gallery}.

MKUltra, from Mancunian-based artist Ben Jackson, was formed during a period of COVID lockdown that the artist spent in his hometown of Milton Keynes.

Under the cinematic scrutiny of Jackson’s eye, Milton Keynes is photographed as a futuristic Delphian dystopia, dissecting modernist plans for this ‘new town’ and replacing them with a pewter cinder narrative that is a reminder of a plagued space and time.

The abstract, sci-fi-influenced visuals are accompanied by a specially scored soundtrack by Alan Jackson.

Dubbed as a must-visit for fans of Godard’s The Image Book and Campany’s A Handful of Dust, MKUltra launches with a private view (and karaoke) from 7pm on Thu 14 Sep. The exhibition will then continue from Fri 15 Sep – Thu 5 Oct.
