Typical, there are no festivals for weeks, and then three come along at once. This week it’s all about celebrating in true foodie heaven, beginning with pancake festivities at Kosmonaut. After devouring as many crepes as is humanly possible, check out the many Valentine’s Day deals (click through for our round up, plus a new one – unlimited wine at Flok!) about town. Heading into the weekend for a Chinese New Year food market at St Ann’s Square, where there will plenty of traditional Chinese delicacies to try, alongside some more modern takes on Asian street food. In new openings, we welcome Pioneer Coffee to the Manchester fold, and try the new dishes on the menu at Bundobust.

Chinese food market in St Ann’s Square
To welcome in the Lunar New Year, Manchester will be awash with red, and events run at venues across the city. We are mightily excited for the Chinese food market that will pop up in St Ann’s Square. There will be plenty of traditional Chinese foods to try, pot-sticker dumplings, moon cake, and steamed bao buns (filled with meat and veg) from the likes of street food favourites Wallace and Sons. People’s Choice award winner at the British Street Food Awards, Dim Sum Su, will be serving up her trademark Korean fried chicken bao with Sichuan pepper fries, and NQ diner Cottonopolis will be there to show off their creative, Asian-inspired flavours.
Sat 17 – Sun 18 Feb. St Ann’s Square, Manchester, M2 7LF. @CNY_MCR for updates.

Pancake special at Kosmonaut
Flip it upside down with Kosmonaut at their Stranger Things 2 quiz accompanied by a great stack of pancakes from Fat Tony. The NQ bar launched their Fat Tony’s food concept back in the Autumn with a menu of hearty, no-frills classics, and we expect the pancake feast to follow suit.
