Just opened: Hawaiian restaurant Oké Poké on Northern Quarter’s Church Street
Hawaiian street food cafe Oké Poké has opened in the Northern Quarter serving Poké (pronounced poh-kay); a one bowl, deconstucted sushi concoction (pictured). The classic dish comprises sushi rice, tuna, avocado, carrot, wakame, cucumber, spring onion and sesame seeds, and their Teriyaki Jack is a mixture of black rice, chicken, radish, red cabbage, celery, edamame, coriander, pickled ginger and teriyaki sauce. You can also create your own poké, to be enjoyed alongside their range of juices and smoothies. Pop in to say aloha.

Head down to Harvey Nichols for a seasonal array of three small plates and a glass of wine. Beginning with artisan breads, oil and vinegar, dishes to choose from include proscuitto and cheddar croquettes with tomato and chilli jam, burrata with smoked aubergine, kale pesto, tomato and crisp bread or hoisin duck bun with pickles and coriander and more. Meet the brewer: Beer and scotch egg evening at Stalybridge Buffet Bar
Bakewell is home to the tart and also Thornbridge Brewery. They’re bringing a variety of their brews to Stalybridge Buffet Bar this week, offering guests six thirds to sample, which will be paired with six different scotch egg dishes. These include pickled beetroot scotch egg rolled in a salted crisp crust with a burnt leek and hollandaise salad; and pork, chilli, roast peppers and harissa scotch eggs with an apple, fennel, watercress and radish salad, along with four other mouthwatering dishes. The food waste intercepting heroes are back to cook up a pay-as-you-feel storm this Thursday. The next Heart & Parcel supper club offers a Syrian menu, cooked up by a Syrian Kurd member of the community group. With two sittings available on the night, the menu will begin with hummus, kibbeh and red lentil soup before moving onto a main of mousakka, cucumber, mint and yoghurt salad and green lentils and rice with fried onions.
