Bittersweet is an evening exploration of sugar hosted by artist Ellie Doney, Feast Journal and the National Caribbean Heritage Museum at Manchester Museum this Valentine’s Day. As well as talks about the social, economic and political complexities of sugar production – and its consumption – there will be artefacts relating to the history of sugar from Manchester Museum’s permanent collection on display with a traditional Caribbean punch to enjoy. Try botanical and refined sugars in all their various forms over the course of this free, two hour workshop for adults and expect plenty of food for thought…
