Part of the city’s ongoing Peterloo bicentennial, Poole’s talk will cover his past work, which includes the graphic novel Peterloo: Witnesses to a Massacre, and also talk a little about the new research and findings that is still shaping how we see this historical event.

Yestonbury and Fat Out’s Late Night Karaoke Dungeon at YES
Charles Street venue YES hosts not one, but two interesting free events on Saturday night. First up is Yestonbury, where the venue’s already-legendary Pink Room is transformed into a micro-Glastonbury, as the big screen showcases a greatest hits reel from the past three decades of the festival, followed by a party hosted by club promoters Let’s Make This Precious. Meanwhile, in the other room alt gig promoters Fat Out host a high-concept karaoke night, where stylists can transform you Stars In Their Eyes style into your music idol. Pre-booking is required to get a karaoke slot, but both events are free to drop in and watch.
