Tickety Brew Tap Takeover at Town Hall Tavern
For our first pick of free things to in Manchester this weekend, we’ve got this tap takeover event at Tib Lane’s Town Hall Tavern. Tickety Brew – the brewery best known for their old train ticket style bottle labelling – are running this weekend-long takeover event, offering up a great range of IPAs, porters and more. Earlycomers on Friday who’ve confirmed attendance on Facebook can take advantage of a free first taste, and on Sunday you can take part in a free meet the brewer event and raffle.

M a n i f e s t o at Grindsmith
Next up is this free gig at independent Deansgate coffee house Grindsmith. M a n i f e s t o – spaces between each letter, absolutely necessary – is a night of free music hosted by local electronica artist Johnny Sands. Sands’ work features ambient synths and analogue drum machines, so this is likely to be a little different from your average open mic. The final lineup is still TBA, but expect the unexpected.

City centre craft beer institutionCafé Beermoth turns five this weekend, so to celebrate they’re having their biggest tap takeover yet. They’ll be putting on lines from a whopping 14 different breweries, from local favourites like Cloudwater to the Garage Brewing Co – a big Californian brewery that started life in an enthusiast’s garage. Catering for the evening is provided by the street food aficionados at Howlin Tacos.
