If you’re looking for ways to stretch out your bank holiday, there’s another week of free fun for you right here:

Gravy Wrestling in Stacksteads
As featured in our round up of the Summer’s weird festivals, the Rose n Bowl pub in Stacksteads Lancashire plays host to the World Gravy Wrestling championship. To our knowledge this is the only event of its kind: You can go see grown men and women battle for dominance of a paddling pool of brown liquid in a pub car park. Despite this, it’s a fun, afternoon out if you wanted to get out of Town. Regrettably, I don’t they’re offering a vegetarian option.
Mon 31 Aug, Rose n Bowl, 264 Newchurch Rd, Bacup, Rossendale, Lancashire, OL13 0UG, 12pm – evening, www.worldgravywrestling.com
