As we edge our way reluctantly towards Autumn, it becomes clear that 2014’s Summer wasn’t all Pimms and BBQs as we’d hoped. But luckily we’ve found some other ways for you to enjoy your weekend, all of which are totally free!

10 x 10 exhibition at Federation House
10 x 10 is a collaborative exhibition not only launching 2014’s Design Manchester, but also showcasing some of our finest homegrown talent in the creative sphere – this year exploring the theme The Science of Imagination. Featuring unlikely partnerships across the realms of art, design, illustration, film, animation and photography, 10 x 10 works as a springboard for Mancunion talent on a national and international scale. A name to look out for is Brendan Dawes, who has worked with the songs of legendary Mancunian musicians like Joy Division, Elbow and The Smiths to create stunning physical sculptures that depict the sound waves of some of their greatest songs.
