It may feel like a quiet weekend in Manchester as the city gears itself up for next week’s bank holiday, but with Ben Pearce, burgers, lobsters, silent discos and more on the cards all for free, it seems we might not do badly.

#SecondSelf launch party at Burger & Lobster
For those of you that may not have got in on the insane freebie action during the soft launch, this weekend Burger & Lobster settles into its new home (and first Northern outlet) with an official welcome party, packed full with burgers, lobsters and tunes. The night’s headliner is local lad done good, chart-topper Ben Pearce (pictured), who will be joined by award-winning DJ and WHP resident Jonny Dub, plus funk and soul outfit Jenna and The Gs.
Fri 21 Aug, Burger & Lobster, Ship Canal House, King Street, M2 4WU, 8pm – 11.30pm, FREE (RSVP here)

#HookedOnMusic at MOSI
Following Thursday’s #HookedOnMusic silent disco, exploring the danceability of the music we listen to, MOSI’s family friendly Pi: Platform for Investigation will play host to a free drop-in silent disco throughout the day this Saturday, so that Manchester’s younger ravers will also be able to dance in the name of science.
Sat 22 Aug, Museum of Science and Industry, Liverpool Road, M3 4FP, 10.30am – 3.30pm, FREE, www.mosi.org.uk
