More than 200 performers and over 50 free shows are set to take over Stockport this November.
Returning for a fourth year, Stockport’s Spectacular Sunday will transform the town centre into a bustling hub of music, street theatre and magic.

Running from 12pm-5pm, streets and squares will become stages for larger-than-life puppets, daring circus acts, mischievous comedy, live performances and even ‘The World’s Smalles Nightclub’. The afternoon will build to a showstopping parade finale featuring over 100 drummers, leading to a brand-new Christmas lights switch-on at 4.45pm.
The event is organised in partnership by Stockport Council, Totally Stockport, Merseyway Shopping Centre and Stockport Market, with production by Global Grooves,
Mark Ross, CEO of Totally Stockport, said: “There’s something very Stockport about finding the world’s smallest nightclub on your doorstep, encountering a giant snow lion and then watching a finale with over 100 drummers. Stockport’s Spectacular Sunday gives us the chance to be imaginative and bring something out of the ordinary to the town. We want people to explore, discover an act they’ve never seen before and enjoy a unique Christmas celebration with a personality all of its own.”
Cllr Micheala Meikle, Cabinet Member for Economy, Regeneration and Skills at Stockport Council, said: “It’s fantastic to see Stockport’s Spectacular Sunday return for a fourth year. The event has become a much-loved part of Christmas in Stockport, bringing together creativity, community spirit and plenty of festive cheer. It’s also a great opportunity to experience everything our town centre has to offer, from our historic Market Place and Underbanks to the vibrant spaces that are helping bring more people together in Stockport. We’re looking forward to welcoming residents and visitors for what promises to be another memorable start to the festive season.”
