Chorlton based gallery Yuck Print House has curated an innovative artistic experiment over at Islington Mill, which sees six different artists spend one week together trying to produce collaborative artwork that alludes to corporate bonding activities. Featuring the likes of Berlin artists Palefroi (Damien Tran and Marion Jdanoff), Ryan Doyle and Mark Edwards of DR.ME Studio, Steve Hockett and John Powell-Jones, the prints will be displayed within Islington Mill’s exhibition space from Friday. Oldham’s Christmas Lights Switch-on
Missed the Christmas lights get switched on in Manchester last weekend? No fear, for it’s Oldham’s turn this Sunday. This year Britain’s Got Talent stars Bars and Melody are on board for the big count down at the event’s new home of Tommyfield Market, and as well as pressing the all important button they will also be giving a live performance. Throughout the day there will be arts and craft stalls, funfair rides and food and drink, with children’s TV characters Ben Elf and Princess Holly from Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom also making an appearance for younger visitors. As per, the night will close with an explosive firework finale.

The Ordsall Ball (of wool)
In celebration of all things woolly, Ordsall Hall hosts a special afternoon this Sunday full of spinning, weaving and sewing. You’ll also be able to browse wool and yarn products at a craft fair, where there will be knitted hats, crochet toys, jewellery and more made by crafters from across the North West, as well as plenty of supplies to take home including knitting needles and patterns. Salford collective Any Yarn Goes and the Knitting and Crochet Guild will be running knitting and crochet taster sessions, and the North West Lacemaking Guild will help you try your hand at lacemaking.
