Launch Party for The Summer of Secrets
This weekend author Sarah Louise Jasmon launches her new book, ‘The Summer of Secrets’, a coming-of-age tale that follows sixteen-year-old Helen as she becomes enchanted by the bohemian family that has moved in next door. Join her and Jo Bell, Tania Hershman, Graeme Shimmin and Benjamin Judge as they come together for an evening of stories, poetry, a retro 80s disco soundtrack and Monster Munch.

Darkness and Light: A Gothic Tour (pictured)
Go behind the scenes at the John Rylands Library for a tour that visits all of the building’s Victorian Gothic splendour, from the original entrance hall, cellars and the stunning Historic Reading Room. The tour will be inspired by some of the best literature on display in the Darkness and Light exhibition, combining it to weave ‘a vivid Gothic story’.

Hello Kitty Visits intu Trafford Centre
Encouraging visitors to do #OneKindThing, Hello Kitty makes her way to Manchester this weekend to make a special appearance at her Kindness Garden on Peel Avenue. Here you’ll be able to get some free Hello Kitty nail art by renowned nail artist Sophy Robinson, whilst getting creative at the craft area, boasting everything from face painting and temporary tattoos to balloon sculpting, competitions. There will also be a photo booth and vintage beauty caravan, making it one for fans of all ages. The event is free, but visitors are encouraged to pay for the kind gesture by doing a good deed for the day for someone else. Aww.
