The annual Manchester Jazz Festival kicks off this weekend with some of the finest jazz musicians from across the globe heading to Manchester. A top tip for the festival has to be BBC 6music’s Gilles Peterson. As part of the BBC Introducing series of events, Gilles will be introducing up-and-coming jazz and experimental live bands with a DJ set til late. Expect to hear cutting edge latin, jazz, funk, afrobeat and electronica from the legendary crate digger and Brownswood Recordings boss. Entry is free via the BBC Introducing website.
