Two musical powerhouses come together at The Bridgewater Hall this June, as Grammy-winning singer and composer Arooj Aftab joins forces with the London Contemporary Orchestra (LCO).
Known for her spellbinding blend of jazz, minimalism and South Asian classical traditions, the show will see Arooj reimagine music from across her acclaimed catalogue, adding sweeping new orchestral arrangements to her intimate and emotionally rich sound world.
In 2022, Aftab became the first Pakistani artist to win a Grammy Award, receiving Best Global Music Performance for her song Mohabbat. Sung in Urdu and rooted in the Sufi poetic tradition, the track saw Arooj break onto the international stage. Her album Night Reign received further Grammy nominations in 2025.

Led by LCO’s co-artistic director and principal conductor, Robert Ames, audiences can expect a cinematic evening of boundary-defying, atmospheric compositions, offering a unique and rare chance to hear one of today’s most distinctive artists on a scale like never before.
Support will come from acclaimed Manchester pianist, producer and composer, Matt Wilde, whose fusion of improvised jazz and electronic beat-making has been championed by the likes of BBC Radio, Jazz FM and Worldwide FM.
Arooj Aftab and the London Contemporary Orchestra head to The Bridgewater Hall on Sat 20 Jun. Book your tickets below.
