The longest reigning winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award arrives at The Frog this Wednesday with his latest work of semi-improvisational genius ‘This Is Just What Happens’. One of the most original comedians of his generation Brookes never fails to put on an unforgettable show so if you haven’t yet booked a ticket, get yourself down.
Sofie Hagen arrives in Manchester for two nights at the Contact Theatre this weekend with their new show ‘Fat Jokes’. Sofie promises ‘fat jokes and unforgettable moments that you can laugh at without feeling like sh*t’, which from someone who has made an excellent career from creating laughs from the darkest of places means we’re all in for a treat.

It’s long since overdue that Manchester had a comedy festival and in Laughterama they’ve got a heck of a lineup with the likes of David O’Doherty, Aisling Bea, Nish Kumar, Daniel Kitson, Rose Matafeo, James Acaster, Rosie Jones heading to the Castlefield Bowl over the course of five days of live outdoor comedy.
