As we begin nearing the end of the final summer month, there are still tons of great free events this week and during the long-awaited Bank Holiday Weekend. Here’s the rundown of the best things to do in Manchester featuring jam-packed Oxford Road Corridor celebrations, Pride celebrations and many more…
The Oxford Road Corridor is Manchester’s innovation district and a destination home to a unique mix of knowledge, business and culture and a huge August bank holiday weekend is set to arrive there!. Including the likes of the Manchester Museum’s closing celebrations, Manchester Pride parties, live theatre at Palace Theatre & Opera House alongside a whole host of other gigs, club nights and food & drink aplenty – this is definitely something you don’t want to miss out on!
Open Doors is a series of creative sessions designed especially for children on the autism spectrum, their families and carers. Each month, Open Doors explores different artworks and ideas with its artists and volunteers. You can get hands-on with a variety of making activities, explore the art gallery or just spend time together in the new children’s space, The Lion’s Den. This event is a brilliant example of some of the great work going on in Manchester right now, all about creating access to cultural venues for people with autism and other social communication issues. A quiet room is also available.
