Glossop-based jazz bass player Gavin Barras takes the stage for NQ Jazz’s weekly stream this Monday 19 April. From 7pm – catch Gavin perform songs from his latest album The Family Tree – including original material influenced by fatherhood, friendship and home. Joined by his band – Jeff Guntren on sax, Jim Faulkner on guitar and drummer Dave Walsh – Gavin’s long term collaborator Dan Whieldon will also appear on piano. La Blogotheque’s series of Stay Away Shows continue this week with a special set from Texas folk singer Katy Kirby. Playing over on Instagram Live on Tuesday 20 April from 6pm (BST), tune in to hear Kirby’s sweet vocals and indie sensibilities as she plays tracks from her latest album Cool Dry Place. Although free to watch, you can donate towards the artist via the purchase of a virtual ticket at the Dice France website.

Spanning across two consecutive days – GIRLFEST present Oh My Babes! – an Instagram virtual festival raising money in aid of womankind worldwide whilst celebrating female and queer artists. British prog rock band The Pineapple Thief mark the release of their latest studio album Nothing But The Truth (2020) with an exclusively-filmed performance of the record in full. On Thursday 22 April from 6pm – the band make up for cancelled worldwide tour dates as they connect with fans in this ‘cinematic’ experience filmed by George Laycock. Bread Records present their monthly Cream of the Crop showcase this Saturday 24 April.
